They wanted to defend pastoral activity and encourage the development of the <strong>farmhouse cheeses Corsica<\/strong> of the island, decided to set up the association \"\u00a0<strong>A Fiera di U Casgiu<\/strong>\" .<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/foire-venaco.jpg\" alt=\"The venaco fair\" title=\"The Venaco fair in Corsica\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This decade-old voluntary initiative has grown from strength to strength to become a major event in the region. Every year, it takes the form of the cheese fair, held in May (the peak of cheese production) in the village of <strong>VENACO <\/strong>with no fewer than a hundred exhibitors from all over Corsica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But A FIERA DI U CASGIU is also a competition that rewards the best <strong>Corsican cheeses<\/strong>. It has become a stage in its own right on the Route Europ\u00e9enne des Sens Authentiques (RESA).
