Hotels in Figari: where to stay, from the hamlets to the gulf

Hamlets, gulf or Pianottoli: in Figari, you get everywhere by car, and the airport is never far away.

Figari has no centre. The commune is made up of hamlets scattered across the plain, between the airport, the vineyards and the gulf. It is a quiet place to stay, halfway between Bonifacio and Porto-Vecchio, and many people come here for a first or last night near the airport.

Our listings include four hotels, three of them classified by Atout France, as well as B&Bs, guest houses and a few rentals, mostly in the hamlets. On the shore of the gulf we list only one address; in Pianottoli-Caldarello, the neighbouring commune, two.

In Figari, plan on a car, whatever the area. Each area below opens with a description and the travellers it suits. Then come the places to stay, with their distance from a landmark (a hamlet, the harbour, a village) and their dated Booking rating. The map shows every address, and the tips at the bottom of the page help you decide. For the commune itself, its vineyards and its ria, see our Figari guide.

1The hamlets of the plain

Tivarello, Poggiale and the commune’s other hamlets, quiet and a few minutes from the airport.

Bonifacio and Porto-Vecchio are both less than half an hour’s drive away, outside summer and without stopping. Several wine estates welcome visitors for tastings.

Best for : by car · quiet

Three hotels classified by Atout France, B&Bs and guest houses, a country house and an apartment. For a night before an early-morning flight, stay here rather than by the sea.

3Pianottoli-Caldarello

The neighbouring commune, on the coast, with its coves.

The commune shares the Figari name of the Vin de Corse appellation with Figari. A car is useful to get to the airport and to Bonifacio.

Best for : by car

A hotel and a guest house, both in the village of Pianottoli, on the road to Bonifacio.

Tips

How to choose

A night before your flight

For an early-morning flight, the hamlets are the safest choice: depending on the address, the airport is a quarter of an hour’s drive at most, outside summer and without stopping.

Plan on a car

The hamlets, the sea and the neighbouring towns are spread out. Book a hire car at the same time as your accommodation, especially for the summer.

Bonifacio or Porto-Vecchio

Both towns are less than half an hour’s drive from the hamlets, outside summer and without stopping. Staying in Figari lets you choose each morning, as long as you do not mind the driving.

Check the distance

The hamlets lie far apart: depending on the address, you are 500 m from Tivarello or nearly 5 km away. Each listing shows the distance.
