Camping in Corsica: our classified, well-rated campsites, north to south
Campsites classified on the official register and rated at least 8/10 by their guests, grouped by region.
Corsica has 140 classified campsites on the Atout France register, from one to five stars. The classification is awarded by Atout France and is valid for five years. The stars tell you what the campsite offers, not what its guests think of it, so we cross-checked the register with Booking ratings.
This page only includes the campsites that meet our three criteria, set out below: classified less than five years ago, rated 8/10 or higher, and matched beyond doubt on Booking. We searched for each of the 140 campsites on the register. Many are not on Booking, or have no rating there, so whole areas are missing, such as the Gulf of Ajaccio or Saint-Florent.
The campsites are grouped by region, Corse-du-Sud then Haute-Corse, and then by destination. Each card gives the star classification, the Booking rating with the month it was recorded and the distance to a landmark. The map shows every campsite, and the tips at the bottom of the page help you choose.

How to choose
Book early for summer
For July and August, book several months ahead if your dates are fixed, especially for a mobile home or a chalet rather than a pitch.
Ask for shade
In summer, the sun beats down on a tent. When you book, ask for a shaded pitch, under pines or oaks, and look at the photos on the listing.
Check the distance to the beach
The distance shown on each card runs from the campsite to a landmark: a harbour, a village. For the beach itself, see the question further down, or the map on the Booking listing.
Fire in summer
From 15 June to 30 September, lighting fires and smoking are banned in forests and the maquis, by prefectural order. Follow the campsite’s rules on barbecues, and check the fire risk map every evening if you are going hiking.
A car, in most cases
Most of these campsites are a few kilometres from the nearest town. A hire car makes shopping and outings easier, except in Calvi, where several campsites are less than two kilometres from the harbour.
