5-star hotels in Corsica: the official classification, destination by destination
The stars from the official register, not the ones shown on booking sites.
A hotel does not choose its own stars. In France, tourist hotels are classified by Atout France, Franceâs tourism development agency, after an inspection visit by a body accredited by Cofrac, the French accreditation committee. The scale runs from one to five stars, and the criteria are inspected again every five years: a classification that is not renewed no longer counts. A classified hotel must display the official plaque for its category.
The stars you see on booking sites do not necessarily come from this register. So we started from the register itself, published as open data on data.gouv.fr. As of 2 November 2026, it lists 29 tourist hotels classified 5 stars in Corsica.
This page shows only some of them: those already featured on our destination pages, where we chose our places to stay area by area. We have not added any hotel just to make the list longer. Each one was matched by hand to its line in the register, by name and town.
The hotels are grouped by destination, with their Booking rating and the date it was recorded. A link leads to each destination’s page, so you can see the other places to stay in the area or plan your sightseeing.

How to choose
Check the classification yourself
Atout France’s register of classified establishments is open to everyone. Search for the hotel by its name and town: you will see its category and the date it was classified.
Look at the classification date
A classification is valid for five years, after which the hotel must renew it. If the date is close to five years ago, check that the hotel is still on the register in the same category.
Stars are not a rating
The stars tell you what the hotel offers, inspected against a list of criteria. The Booking rating tells you what guests thought of it. Read the two together: one does not replace the other.
Choose the region first
Our selection runs from Bastia to Bonifacio, by way of the Balagne and the Gulf of Ajaccio. Decide first what you want to see: each group leads to the page for its destination.
Check the date of the rating
Each Booking rating is shown with the month it was recorded. An older rating is worth checking against recent reviews on Booking before you book.
