Porto, in Corse-du-Sud, has nothing to do with the city in Portugal: it is a small marina at the head of a gulf listed by UNESCO, in the commune of Ota. Places to stay are few and spread across three villages. At the marina, by the water, you will find hotels and holiday residences close to the boats and restaurants. Piana, perched above the calanques, adds apartments. Évisa, in the mountains, has village hotels, a lodge and chalets.
So the choice depends on your plans. If you have come for the sea and the trips to Scandola, the marina lets you do without the car for most things. If you are after views or cooler air, Piana or Évisa give you both, at the cost of a slow road in summer.
The areas run from the sea up to the mountains. For each one you will find what sets it apart and who it suits, then our places to stay, with their Booking rating and the date it was recorded. The map shows them all, and our tips help you decide. The village of Ota does not yet have a place to stay in our selection.
