The Aîtone forest

 The Aîtone forest south of the Corsicastretches from the heights of Evisa to the Vergio pass, at an altitude of 1490 metres. It is a forest populated by laricio pine, chestnut and beech trees.

It is criss-crossed by a forest road built during the Second Empire, and is located just a short distance from another forestthe Valdoniello forest.

This is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful forests in Corsicafamous for its gigantic laricio pines.

Numerous footpaths invite you to enjoy beautiful walks, in particular up to mountain peaks approaching 1500 m in altitude.
